Francisco de Goya’s world of shadows is very representative of his work, the most admired of which can be seen in his black paintings and in most of his engravings. An inner world so plagued with darkness that it overwhelms us. The work of Luis and Romulo Royo also passes through these mysterious territories from other angles, and many of their images take us into enigmas, darkness, smoke and night.

Throughout his works we find endless threads and connections. With a love of fantasy that makes these common links palpable, not only in terms of ideas and subject matter for their artistic pieces but also in the way they have managed to spread their works throughout the world through their prints and engravings, allowing the general public to enjoy their art.
